About The Event:
An important new chapter in CSPA’s long history will take place on November 10th, as we pass the baton for the organization from the current leadership to the capable hands of CSPA’s newly elected president, Henry Wong. As the founder of Diamond TechVentures LLC and a partner of Garage Technology Ventures, as well as a successful former entrepreneur, Henry brings with him a wealth of experience in technology startup, venture financing, enterprise sales, and all aspects of business operations – a formidable combination, which makes him well-suited to lead CSPA to the next level of innovation and community leadership.
The event will highlight a keynote by Steve Westly, our former California State Controller and currently the Managing Partner of The Westly Group, a clean tech-oriented venture capital firm. Bridging his past as a software and Internet pioneer, and his current passion in clean tech, Steve is expected to highlight evolving trends in the clean tech industry and provide a peek into his investment targets.
Also sharing the stage will be Drew Clark, Director of Corporate Strategy in IBM's Venture Capital Group. IBM’s key business imperatives including Sustainability / Cleantech, Smart Healthcare and Cloud Computing, where Drew works closely with the global venture capital community to help drive new business opportunities. As a serial “intrapreneur", Drew has led a range of internal startup initiatives, including a key role in the formation of IBM's Internet Division. Later, Drew led IBM's search, knowledge-management, social media and Web 2.0 initiatives. His experience and background offers a balance to Henry and Steve in this all-important next chapter of CSPA
