Our first formal meeting went great! Here are some highlights.

Richard Harbridge gave a great talk on ShaerPoint 2010 Integration and Interoperability: What you need to know about Microsoft Business Connectivity Services (BCS). Great Speaker, Great Topic.

Form Approval Process - Best Practices

In your company, forms are everywhere, and they usually have some type of workflow associated with them.  Approval workflows are a very common request in SharePoint, and there are several different ways to go about creating this process.  SharePoint Designer and InfoPath are common tools that are used to not only create the business form, but to run it through an approval.  Depending on the business requirements, there are different best practices involved.  In this session, attendees will learn how SharePoint 2010 and InfoPath 2010 can be leveraged the most efficiently to create an approval process that is best for the specific project.   Improvements from 2007 to 2010 will also be discussed.

Her presentation starts at 7 so we'll have some discussion beforehand.

For non-Tampa folks

I realized that some of you are not local but apart from the announcement of the Tampa group I can also announce that there are going to be another SharePoint Saturday in South Florida starting on December 4th in South Florida at Nova University in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

Right now we have calls for speakers and sponsors out so if you are interested in either please let either I or Chuck Hughes know via the site. If you can't make that one we are also initial phases of coordinating SharePoint Saturdays with other user groups for Orlando, NASA, and of course SPS Tampa will be back for sure in 2011. I will send out those announcements as they come in.
