 ROE vs. ROI
Everyone knows about return on investment (ROI) as a measure of success for business: It is the amount of profit from an investment made, usually expressed as a percentage of the original total cost invested. ROI on training is an expected way to show training benefits in organizations that want tangible measures to show improvement.

What about return on expectations (ROE)? This is also a way to define value for stakeholders. ROE uses methods that deal with the psychological and sociological complexity inherent in business. Using ROE we are able to communicate results clearly to business people not necessarily interested in the fine points of complex statistics and research design.
