Sea Squirts
Sea Squirts is designed for kids ages 6 to 8 who are new to sailing. The lessons offer very close instructor supervision and are taught at a slow pace. Classes are short and fun. Students sail in the harbor, not on Lake Michigan. Parents can easily watch from shore. Classes emphasize the basics of safety, boat parts, rigging and beginning steering. We use Prams and Optis, which are ideally suited for small sailors.
Classes are from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Sheridan Shore Sailing School
For more than 50 years, Sheridan Shore Sailing School has been proud to offer students a chance to experience the thrill, challenge and exhilaration of sailing. Our courses help instill the skills of sailing and seamanship to juniors, high school students and adults of all ability levels. Classes are led by certified U.S. Sailing Association instructors and feature a low student to instructor ratio. We offer a variety of courses designed to match differing interests, abilities and ages. The Sailing School uses the facilities of Sheridan Shore Yacht Club which is located in Wilmette Harbor. The Sailing School is a 501 c (3) not-for-profit organization and is open to the community.
