Event Details

6th Annual Heartsongs Luncheon will include keynote speaker Dr. Tomas Silber, Director Adolescent Medicine, Children's National Medical Center, and the Reges Family. Charles Reges, then 8 years old, was hit by a car in Potomac Village last March and sustained life threatening injuries. After 51 days at Children’s Hospital - 14 spent in a coma - Charles made a miraculous recovery – come listen to the Reges Family’s amazing story of courage, strength & love. Monies raised at this year's event will go to purchase a portable CT Scan machine (cost of $400,000) and to the Hospital's Wish List of items to help make patients and their families a bit more comfortable during a very stressful and difficult time.

The Heartsongs Luncheon Fund was established as a tribute to Mattie J.T. Stepanek, a child poet, peacemaker, and inspiration to us all. Mattie was a long-time patient of Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. before he lost his battle with a rare form of muscular dystrophy in June 2004. Monies raised by Heartsongs benefit Children's Hospital. For more infomation, contact us at info@heartsongs.org
