What will the future of nonprofit leadership look like? Join 100 nonprofit leaders on Thursday, January 31, 2008, 8:30am - 11am for Generational Change, Baby Boomers, and Emerging Nonprofit Leaders: Debunking the Myths, an interactive discussion that will bring existing & emerging leaders together for coordinated learning & action. Speakers include: Patrick Corvington, Annie E. Casey Foundation, Frances Kunreuther, Building Movement Project, and current nonprofit leaders. Co-hosted by the Nonprofit Roundtable and YNPNdc.

LONG DESCRIPTION:

According to research conducted by the Bridgespan Group, Meyer Foundation and Annie E. Casey, there will be a severe deficit of executive leadership available to the nonprofit sector in the next decade. At least three out of four executive directors plan to leave their jobs within the next five years and about half of current younger leaders plan to leave the sector altogether. Baby Boomers are set to retire and the next generation is ambivalent about stepping up to the plate. So, who will replace these exiting executive directors and take up the torch in the nonprofit community? What will the future of nonprofit leadership look like? YNPNdc and the Nonprofit Roundtable invite you to come learn about the current trends in generational change and emerging nonprofit leadership. Join 100 nonprofit leaders for an interactive discussion that will bring existing & emerging leaders together in building a stronger nonprofit sector that is prepared for change, transition, and innovation in an ever-evolving landscape. Speakers include:

Patrick Corvington, Senior Associate, Annie E. Casey Foundation

Frances Kunreuther, Director, Building Movement Project

Lawrence Dark, Executive Director, Good Samaritan Foundation

Regina Dull, Executive Director, International Student Conferences

Lynsey Wood Jeffries, Deputy Director, Higher Achievement

Shannon Doran, Executive Director, Public Leadership Education Network
