Event Details

The project will be lead by Marin Conservation Corps as part of the 10th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration, which is hosted by Grassroots Leadership Network of Marin in collaboration with many community-based organizations. This local initiative is connected with a national effort to make the holiday “A Day On, Not a Day Off”, when thousands across the country will honor King’s legacy of tolerance, peace, and equality by meeting community needs. Youth are called to work alongside with seniors in different projects to make the garden a reality. The group will meet at the Marguerita Johnson Senior Center, 640 Drake Ave. The morning will be followed by a commemoration luncheon featuring raffle prizes for volunteers, performances from local artists, and youth awards.
