Graduated from Hsin-Hua College of Art in Shanghai. She studied with several renowned masters. Among them, Te-Nien Fu was famous for his calligraphy and paintings of pines, bamboos and plum flowers. They are symbolic in Chinese culture for elegance, humility and fortitude. Madeleine was so treasured a student that Te-Nien Fu encouraged and was delighted at the marriage of Madeline to his son Paul Fu. The Fu family was steeped in scholarly and artistic pursuit and had several generations of well-known artists. Madeleine and Paul both developed into noted young artists in Shanghai. They studied with Master Dai-Chiang Chang, one of the most sought after painters in China, famous for his large-scale landscape brush paintings. Madeleine and Paul came to the US in 1962 and opened Fu’s Art Studio in Mill Valley, CA. They have had many exhibits and demonstrations in the last 20 years in the Bay Area, including the De Young Museum's Asian Art Center.
