Event Details

In addition to great networking and tasty treats provided by Rosemont Market, our first breakfast series topic will examine Low Profit Limited Liability Company legislation (also know as L3C) and what it means for businesses in Maine.

Our speakers will be Chris McLoon, Esq., of Verrill Dana who has been working on the legislation and David Bright of MOO Milk.  David and Chris will discuss what it means to be an L3C business in Maine and the ramifications for Maine businesses.  Our speakers will also discuss the so-called Ben & Jerry's law, and how Maine's  legislation addresses the same issues the Ben & Jerry's law does:  protection from shareholder suits for publicly traded companies that make decisions based on their social mission, not just their profitability.

In addition to these great speakers, there will be an opportunity for networking.  Our intent is to host monthly breakfasts with a variety of topics (we're open to suggestions) and to provide great networking opportunities for those interested in sustainability.  We look forward to seeing you there!
