The Bay Area Coalition for Equitable Schools (BayCES), in collaboration with the East Bay Community Foundation, invites you to join a discussion with Michael Moore, Senior Change Leader for the Oakland Unified School District about the district's plans for creating an exceptional public school system.

This district effort known as Expect Success was launched by BayCES support and is designed to:

  • Raise standards of teaching and learning in every classroom;
  • Support teachers and leaders with better tools, training, and technology; and
  • Integrate real accountability into every level of our school system.

Oakland schools have made significant progress, but there is still much work to be done.  BayCES believes that an informed and engaged community is critical to the success of our schools, so please come and contribute your questions and experiences.

Please RSVP no later than Thursday, November 29, 2007.  For questions regarding this event, contact Will Lerner by email (will@bayces.org) or call (510.208.0160 ext. 321).

Space is limited.  90-minute program will be followed by reception with light refreshments.
