Event Details

Mellow out with ballad crooner Richard Slade, on holiday from his classical duties (and chops), singing the songs that fabled music critic Henry Pleasants always said he should be singing, and that Ella Fitzgerald so enjoyed when she heard him sing. Joining Richard are Eric Siegel at the keyboard, Lee Green on tenor sax, and Richard Lindsey on bass and guitar. And once Richard's gotten you all teary-eyed, get ready to blast off with the First U Rock and Soul Revue. Rock and Soul, Common Ground's own 10-piece house band, will take you to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, with blues, funk, Dixieland, rock and zydeco in an eminently danceable program. From classic Mardi Gras tunes to more contemporary blues, the Rock and Soul Revue will provide its own musical gumbo for a sensual feast.

Coming up at Common Ground:

March 29th: Luminescent Orchestrii
Romanian gypsy melodies, punk frenzy, salty tangos, hard-rocking klezmer, haunting Balkan harmony, hip-hop beats and Appalachian fiddle, all eaten and spit out by two violins, resophonic guitar, bullhorn harmonica and bass. Attend this Event

April 26th: Dan Lavoie, Port O'Monkeys
As one of the few musicians in the world actively composing and performing on the rare harpguitar, Dan LaVoie is bringing a unique sound and texture to fans of acoustic music. Also appearing will be Port O’Monkeys, who perform acoustic music with both Spanish and Middle Eastern influences. Attend this Event

May 17th: Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Preview Tour, with Anthony Da Costa, Lindsay Mac, Joe Crookston and Randall Williams
Common Ground is thrilled to welcome back the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Preview Tour once again this year. This year promises to be a special treat. Please click the links above for more information about each artist. Attend this Event

June 14: Guy Davis
Whether he is appearing on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien,” on nationally syndicated radio programs such as “A Prairie Home Companion, in front of 15,000 people on the main stage of a major music festival, or teaching an intimate gathering of students at a music camp, bluesman Guy Davis feels the instinctive desire to give each listener his ‘all’.  Attend this Event
