Downcellar Films, a Boston based film production company, was created in the summer of 2005, when “Hinghamites”, Dennis Hurley, Anthony Knasas, and Paul Villanova decided they wanted to make films together. In addition to their official selections featured in the 48 Hour Film Project and Filmracing.com, they’ve produced 4 short films: The Lobby, The Dead Wind, The Albino Code, and A Briefcase Full Of Knives.

Kevin Anderton / Midnight Chimes Productions is a Boston-based production company committed to the development of film and video projects of all types. Our company has contributed to many projects in the Boston area since our inception in 1999 while producing over forty short projects on our own. We've also worked with other filmmakers to get them opportunities to show their work and to help put actors and filmmakers in the same room.
Dennis Hurley
Dennis created and produced his internationally acclaimed spoof, The Albino Code, featured on CNN, People Magazine, Fox News, MSNBC, Inside Edition, and more.
Dennis spent 5 years living in New York City as an actor in such Off-Off Broadway productions as: Evil Hellcat And Other Lurid Tales, Killing The Great White Tiger, 92 Jonquil Lane, Where's Charley?, Measure For Measure, Macbeth, Titus Andronicus, The Magic Of Mrs. Crowling, and his original plays were also produced Off-Off Broadway: The Break Up (The Independent Theatre, Theatre Studio Inc.), City Oblivious (Theatre Studio Inc.), Dating Grim (The Barrow Group), Oblivious (Manhattan Repertory Theatre)
Dennis received his B.F.A. in Theatre Arts from Ithaca College and studied improvisation with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. He's appeared in several films and web shorts in the NY area including: Let Them Chirp A While, Perfect Profile, Robot Mode, The Bullets, Fool's Gold, The Dinner, Dorks, Points, Winners, Knock Em' Dead, background work on Sex And The City, Law And Order, Law And Order: SVU, Saturday Night Live, The Manchurian Candidate, Wired City, and an under 5 line role in a deleted scene from Running With Scissors. He performs regularly at ImprovBoston with his co-comedy performer, Dave Sawyer in their two man sketch show, Sawyer And Hurley. Dennis continues to work on several film projects in the Boston area with Castparty Productions, Wickid Pissa Films, 7 Fluid Oz. Productions, No Time For Love, and Broke Machine (

Anthony Knasas grew up in Hingham, Massachusetts, he attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco, CA & the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston with a focus on film. Anthony worked behind the scenes on The Albino Code, The Dead Wind, and many other projects. He is developing his first feature to be shot on and around the south shore of Massachusetts summer 2008.
Paul Villanova has been making movies since the 9th grade. He graduated Ithaca College with honors, recieving a degree in video production. His senior thesis, the satire The Happiest Day of My Life, was widely viewed throughout the campus. Since graduation he has worked as a founding member of Downcellar, producing The Lobby, The Albino Code, and writing and directing The Dead Wind (New England Film and Video Festival selection)
