This workshop will explore the differences between project management and project leadership. While most participants will be aware of project management skills, are you also aware of project leadership competencies? Do you know when to use which one?
This workshop will also examine a number of key leadership issues including, awareness, envisioning, trust and decision making. This one day project leadership course will assist all participants to more effectively lead their teams to project success.
The course will use assessments, debates and case studies to apply your new knowledge and skills. You are guaranteed not to be bored!
The workshop will be presented by Dr. Dale Christensen.
Dr. Christenson is the founder and president of the Project Management Centre of Excellence Inc. He's a Certified Management Consultant and Project Management Professional specializing in project management consulting and training. He combines an extensive academic background with real-world expertise in the areas of program and portfolio management, organizational development, change management and critical project success factors. He's held project management leadership positions in the public and private sectors.
Dale has a Doctorate in Project Management from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University in Australia. Dale has 11 peer reviewed journal articles. He is the winner of the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Government Project of the Year Award. He has also served in many roles, including President, for the Vancouver Island Chapter of PMI. He is currently the Knowledge Leader for PMI’s Government Community of Practice.
Dr. Christenson has extensive experience as an international speaker and workshop facilitator
PMPs can claim 7 PDUs by attending this event.
The event will take place in the grounds of the Vancouver Island Technology Park (VITP).
We will provide breaks in the morning and afternoon. Lunch is not included, but there is a Cafe in the building and Camosun College is just a short 5 min. walk away.
