Do you feel like you’re losing your mind?
Are you losing your grip on reality or acting in strange ways? Do you have spontaneous spiritual experiences and not know why? Are you suddenly overwhelmed by powerful emotions? Have you had a life-transforming experience or do you have a spiritual practice and now feel like you’re losing your sanity? Do others tell you something is wrong with you and yet you know something deeper is happening? You may be in the throes of a psycho-spiritual crisis or Spiritual Emergency.
This talk is for anyone whose awakening has become a crisis or for anyone who knows someone like this. We will discuss what Spiritual Emergency is and why it happens, different types of Spiritual Emergency, and how to determine whether a set of “symptoms” should be treated as a Spiritual Emergency or as a psychological dysfunction. We will also talk about modalities for working with Spiritual Emergency, what kind of support you might need and more. A Spiritual Emergency can be a powerful initiation and a call to a more expanded life, and in this talk we discuss how to use such an event to facilitate powerful psycho-spiritual transformation.
Kevin Sachs PhD has been on a spiritual path for 38 years. He has a private practice in New York City where he offers ongoing personal and emotional support for people who do spiritual practice, support in preparing for and integrating deep, transformative inner experiences, and support for people undergoing psychospiritual crisis. Kevin is an advanced student of Holotropic Breathwork™ at Grof Transpersonal Training. He is also studying to certify as a Focusing Professional with Ann Weiser Cornell and Jane Bell and studies shamanism with Jan Edl Stein and Kenn Day. He spent many years studying Siddha Yoga Meditation with Swami Muktananda and Gurumayi Chidvilasananda. Kevin offers individual sessions in New York City or by phone.
