Renowned pianist makes his Canadian debut in support of diabetes awareness in children

Having gained a reputation worldwide for his humour infused performances, classical pianist Julian Gargiulo will make his Canadian debut on September 7, 2010 at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Toronto, in support of diabetes awareness in children and youth. Sharing his own brand of wit while playing some of the world's greatest classical music, Julian Gargiulo receives rave reviews for his unique and charismatic concert performances which have taken place in famous concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Moscow Conservatory Hall and Verona Philharmonic Hall to name but a few.

In association with the NYFEN Film Makers and Actors Network and the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, Gargiulo is scheduled to perform at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Ontario Room, providig music lovers with an intimate concert experience that will also serve to raise funds and awareness for diabetes in children in both Canada and the Caribbean. Gargiulo will play classical pieces in addition to works from his sixth CD, 'Mostly Julian', which includes music performed on recent tours of Italy, the Caribbean and Southest Asia, and will be premiering a new piece called Halloween.

"Gargiulo's performance style sets him apart from traditional concert pianists", says concert presenter Christina Rowlandson. "Throughout his concerts, Gargiulo is often on his feet, telling the audience the back story to his selections or encouraging audience members to name his songs and ask questions. It is a truly memorable experience to watch Julian play and we are delighted he is assisting with fundraising for juvenile diabetes."

Miss World Canada Denise Garrido will be on hand to support the evening and the cause. Tickets cost $80 which includes a VIP welcome reception and an amazing silent auction starting at 6:45 pm. General admission tickets cost $50. The performance begins at 8:00 pm and Gargiulo will be signing CDs following the event.
