The Supreme Court, with its “Citizens United” decision, opened the floodgates for unlimited corporate donations to political campaigns. These donations corrupt our legislative process and threaten a hostile takeover of our democracy.
With just four months to the mid-term elections, several efforts are underway to reform campaign finance law and practice: The Fair Elections Now Act (HR. 1826 and S. 752), the Citizens Right to Know Act (S. 3004), the Shareholder Protection Act (H.R.4790), and other efforts aimed at a constitutional amendment and change through corporate resolution.
