Participants will engage in meaningful discussion to help shape the vision and direction of Arts Partners. A critical component of the planning process is to gather information about the community from the community. Small group conversations will address a series of questions designed to identify community values, hopes and ideals as we develop a mutually agreed upon agenda for arts education in the region. We’ll probe the possibilities for the project and examine the barriers. Opportunities for further involvement will be shared.
Arts Partners is a new vision for integrating arts and culture into every classroom in the Portland metropolitan area. This collaborative initiative involves the Regional Arts and Culture Council, NW Business for Culture and the Arts, Young Audiences of Oregon and SW Washington, the City of Portland, Multnomah and Clackamas Counties, the local arts and culture community and five school districts including Beaverton, Gresham-Barlow, Hillsboro, North Clackamas and Portland.
