Recall the days when "networking" actually meant meeting people and making new contacts? This interactive workshop is designed to help get you out from behind your computer and into the world of informational interviewing and networking. In this workshop, Abby Scott will lead you through some practical tips to expand your network and connect and reconnect with people in your fields of interest.  The Kellogg network and your own professional networks may be largely untapped. Research has shown that the power of networking lies beyond your strong ties.  Bring an open mind and a networking story (successful or otherwise) and we’ll work to get your networking skills back into shape.

Abby Scott (Kellogg MBA '97) is the Executive Director of MBA Career Services at the Haas School of Business. She has been with the Haas School for nearly ten years, after spending ten years in the technology industry, before and after business school. She has worked in marketing, product management and sales positions for Intel, Electronic Arts, and Embark (acquired by the Princeton Review). Abby oversees Career Services for full-time and part-time Berkeley MBA students and alumni, including employer relations, career advising and career management workshops.  She has particular interests in the areas of salary negotiations, networking and leadership development.  Abby was honored with a Haas outstanding staff award in 2002, and earlier this year, she was a recipient of the UC Berkeley Chancellor’s outstanding staff award.  Abby holds a BA from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the Kellogg, where she focused on marketing and finance.  Abby married a Kellogg classmate and lives in the East Bay with her husband John and their 6-year old twins.
