Bonyun Preserve

Bonyun Preserve is conservation land managed primarily for the preservation of wildlife. The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust has managed the preserve since 2002, when it was donated by the heirs of the Bonyun family. The preserve's salt and fresh water marshland habitats as well as old-growth woods contain a multitude of flora and fauna including osprey, great blue heron, snowy egret, mink, deer, and striped bass.

Squire Tarbox Farm

The Midcoast Maine Organic Farm at the Squire Tarbox Inn was started in 2003. The Farm is certified organic through MOFGA (Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association) so there is peace of mind knowing that everything is organic and local. The Farm has  expanded over the years with a greenhouse, as well as another 5  acres nearby, making the growing season substantially longer. Great pride is taken in selecting seeds for the growing season. There are old favorites as well as new varieties.

The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust

The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust was established in 1989 as a membership supported, non-profit conservation land trust dedicated to protecting the open space and natural environment of the lower Kennebec River watershed in Maine. Working with private land owners, conservation groups and government agencies, we have helped to protect over 2,250 acres of natural habitat.
