In association with Intramezzo and The Boulevard, Smith & Williamson, Burges Salmon, and Business Link South West, please join us for our launch of Pitching for Management Bristol event on the 28th September 2010 at 6.00pm - 9.30pm.

 

Roles available at this event will include:

 

1) An exciting company which develops products for the skiing market is looking for a Business Partner to offer guidance and help with new licensing and joint Development opportunities.  The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background and contacts and expertise in the outdoor sports industry.  This role is paying sweat equity and is based remotely.

 

2) A rapidly growing company which provides services in hardware verification and software testing seeks a Software Sales Executive working on a commission-only basis.  This company is based in the South West but could potentially provide services anywhere in the UK.

 

3) An innovative company which is developing a range of products to provide a better way of watching TV requires a CEO and Sales Director.  This company’s vision is to create a high-end product that connects consumers with their chosen content and enables them to watch what they want, when they want and where they want.  These roles are paying sweat equity till year end, followed by a six figure package, located in the UK.

 

4) Finance Director and Operations Director needed for an early stage company which has developed a unique brand and positioning for a range of new 100%  natural, low calorie, soft drinks in the UK.  Initially these roles are available on a part-time basis paying a day rate.

 

5) A company which provides free websites to B&B owners is looking for a B2B Sales Executive to deliver the first 10,000 sales.  There will be a token cash value per sale, which will then be applied as shares.

 

6) A business which aims to be the leader in interactive fitness equipment for the youth market requires a Chief Executive/All rounder.  Ideally someone with familiarity, contacts and understanding of manufacturing, sport and the logistics of running a fast growing business.  The position is paying sweat equity and could be based remotely but ideally a candidate would be prepared to move to Cornwall.

Mark benefits from over 15 years experience from the commercialisation of life science opportunities in the biotech, niche pharma, medtech and diagnostics sectors. Mark has led investments, and is on the board (as a director or observer), on Anaxsys, Celentyx, Concurrent Thinking, Hybrid Systems, nanoTherics and Warwick Effect Polymers.

 

Mark will be talking about what technology VCs see as important in the team leading a fast growing business.

 

Dr John Bradford, Bristol Enterprise Network

John Bradford has been working at the interface between academic research and business innovation since 1997. He's been based in the Bristol & West of England since 2003, working with Universities, Public Sector, private businesses and research charities building collaborative partnerships. In the past year with Science City Bristol he has launched new pilot projects, including one that is leading to a new social enterprise around domestic energy monitoring and data communication. With a background in engineering and systems theory he now delivers business partnerships across the key technology sectors in the region, he is particularly excited by the emerging opportunities afforded by community power generation with a blend of renewable energy and smart grid technologies.
