Event Details

Television & film star Lamman Rucker leads a star studded cast in  Layon Gray's award winning play, Black Angels Over Tuskegee. Based on true events, six men explore their collective struggle and brotherhood as they become the first African- American fighter pilots in the U.S. Army Air Forces.

Black Angels Over Tuskegee goes beyond the headlines of the popular stories of the Tuskegee Airmen and exposes the men who exhibited the courage to excel in spite of all the overwhelming odds against them.

Rounding out this stellar cast are some of Hollywood’s leading black actors;  Demetrius Gross, Thom Scott II, Antonio Charity, David Wendell Boykins,  Derek Shaun,  Jay Jones, Rich Skidmore and writer/director Layon Gray.

Winner of both the 2009 NAACP Award for Best Ensemble and a 2009 Artistic Director Achievement Award for Best Play.  Join us for an incredible night of entertainment as we kick-off the first DC Black theatre Festival.
