Legally carry a concealed firearm in 33 States!
Non-residents of Utah, 21 years of age and older, who complete this 4 hour course, taught by Jim Floyd, M.Ed., a Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification Certified Concealed Firearms Instructor, are eligible to apply for a Utah Concealed Firearm Permit which is recognized in the following states:
- Alabama
- Alaska
- Arizona
- Arkansas
- Colorado (recognizes Indiana license, NOT the Utah non-resident permit)
- Delaware
- Florida (recognizes Indiana license, NOT the Utah non-resident permit)
- Georgia
- Idaho
- Indiana (Indiana residents MUST possess a Indiana handgun license!)
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
- Michigan (recognizes Indiana license, NOT the Utah non-resident permit)
- Minnesota
- Mississippi
- Missouri
- Montana
- Nebraska
- New Hampshire (recognizes Indiana license, NOT the Utah non-resident permit)
- North Carolina
- North Dakota
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- Pennsylvania
- South Dakota
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Utah (recognizes Indiana license AND the Utah non-resident permit)
- Vermont
- Virgina
- West Virginia

Current cost of the permit (paid directly to Utah after the course) is $65.25 and is valid for 5 years. Renewal is $10.00 every 5 years thereafter. You do not have to possess an Indiana License to Carry a Handgun in order to attend this course, however, you cannot use a Utah non-resident permit to carry a handgun in Indiana IF you are a resident of Indiana!

- Areas where Utah permit holders cannot carry a firearm
- How to handle encounters with the police
- Civil liability
- Escalation of force
- Handgun nomenclature
- Ammunition
- Fundamentals of shooting
- Holsters
- Federal, State (Utah), and Local (Utah) laws, codes, rules and regulations
Cost of the Utah non-resident Concealed Firearm Permit course is $99.95 which includes:
- Instruction
- Lite refreshments
- Student manual
- Completed permit application
- Copy of your drivers license
- Completed fingerprint card
- Utah BCI addressed envelope.
- A certificate of completion (which can be utilized to apply for a Florida permit)
Course Cost is only $99.95 per person when you register early!
(price increases to $125.00 per person after 0900 on September 9th)
YOU will need to bring to class with you:
- 1 passport photograph (around $8.00 to $10.00 at local drug stores) for inclusion in your Utah application packet
- 1 copy of your Drivers license (color or black & white is acceptable) for inclusion in your Utah application packet
- Your Drivers license for proof of identity
Issuance of the Utah
non-resident Concealed Firearm Permit is contingent upon successful
completion of the 4 hour firearms familiarization course and a criminal
history check by the Utah Department of Public Safety. The
instructor/DPG cannot and does
not guarantee you will be issued a permit. Listed below is the Utah
Concealed Firearm Permit Denial, Suspension and/or Revocation Criteria.
Please ensure you are eligible for a Utah Concealed Firearm Permit
BEFORE enrolling in the course:
ALL TIME FRAMES START FROM THE DATE THE CASE IS CLOSED. THIS INCLUDES PROBATION, FINES, COURT IMPOSED ACTIONS, ETC.
- Class C and B Misdemeanors = 3 years
- Class A Misdemeanors = 5 years
- Traffic offenses other than DUI do not apply i.e. speeding, no insurance, etc.
- DUI (alcohol related reckless or similar conviction) = 6 years
- Juvenile felony conviction (non violent) = 7 years
- Juvenile felony conviction (violent, crimes against person) = 10 years
- Felony conviction = Lifetime (unless dismissed, reduced to a misdemeanor or expunged)
- Domestic Violence = Lifetime (unless dismissed, reduced to an infraction or expunged)
- Protective Orders = Lifetime (unless removed, must be a family member or cohabitate) (not a neighbor, friend, etc.)
- Mentally Incompetent (adjudicated by a state or federal court) = Lifetime (unless withdrawn or reversed)
- Danger to self or other (threat of or attempt of suicide, with or without an arrest or conviction) = Revocation (time frame based on the CFP Boards decision)

- Reason for suspension: Charged
with
a crime of violence, Has an
outstanding warrant, Indictment
on a felony
- Moral Turpitude disqualifiers (includes but not limited
to): theft, fraud, tax evasion, issuing bad checks,
interference with a police officer, fleeing, resisting arrest, failure to obey police,
obstruction of justice, wildlife
violations involving a weapon, bribery,
perjury, extortion,
arson, criminal mischief,
falsifying government records, forgery, receiving stolen property, firearms violations,
burglary, vandalism
and kidnapping
- The following crimes are also disqualifiers: Unlawful sexual conduct, pornographic and harmful material, offenses involving the use of alcohol (i.e. illegal use or consumption, etc.) offenses involving the use of narcotics
Seating is limited and
pre-registration is required, so please register now!
Cancellations made more than 14
days prior to a scheduled course start date will provide the student/agency
with a 100% refund. Any cancellation within 14 to 1 days prior to a
scheduled course start date will
result in a 50% refund. No refunds are issued for students failing to
show up at a course, or leaving once a course commences. We
understand that emergency circumstances do arise, in which case the
tuition(s) may be transferred to another course, at DPG's discretion, if
proper notification
is made. In some circumstances, verification of the cancellation may
be required. In the unforeseen circumstance that DPG must cancel a
course, paid registrants will be given the option of a full and
immediate refund or a transfer of their paid registration fees to be
applied to any other DPG courses(s).
