Event Details

This experimential workshop is aimed at increasing provider sensitivity towards the impact of loss in our client’s lives. Through thoughtful exploration of an often avoided topic, providers will gain tools for more effective interventions when assisting grieving clients. It will explore the challenges for providers when they are supporting multiple families impacted by loss and discuss strategies for protecting against burnout.

Presenter: Kriss Sulka, M.S.W., Infant and Child Mental Health Specialist, Early Childhood Mental Health Program, Children’s Hospital & Research Center at Oakland

Learning Objectives:
1. Providers will gain strategies for more effective interventions when assisting grieving clients.
2. Through examining their experience with personal loss, providers will more closely be aware of the impact of loss on their clients' lives.
3. Providers will gain tools for preventing against burn out in light of supporting multiple families impacted by loss.
