Event Details

Presented by Linda Brault, M.A., Early Childhood Consultant, this interactive session introduces a systematic method for examining challenging behavior in group environments. It also provides an introduction to the book Children with Challenging Behavior, useful as an ongoing resource. The presenter will weave real life stories into the workshop to bring the concepts to life. By using handouts, small group discussions, visuals, and videos, the session stays vibrant and fresh as important concepts are covered, including:

•Contributing factors to challenging behavior
•Who challenges you and why
•Your own emotional reactions to behavior
•Why children engage in challenging behavior
•Reflective tools and techniques
•How to use these practices successfully in the “real world”

•Handouts summarizing the ideas presented

•Factors contributing to challenging behavior in young children.
•How external and internal factors impact behavior.
