You are invited to the June education program of the Houston International HR Roundtable.  Neill Carson of International Assignment Profile Systems will speak on:

Towards Successful International Assignments: Current Management, Family, and Financial Issues

This presentation will highlight current and emerging business and personal-family issues in expat selection and support.  Current research and a model that integrates the managerial, business, corporate, and human-family costs  issues will be outlined.  The role of selection, family support, talent management, and the use of technology and tools to make processes efficient and cost effective will be discussed.  Representatives from ConocoPhillips and Chevron, two of the most progressive, experienced, and successful companies involved in these issues, will discuss their experiences and learning.

The goal is to understand the managerial, business, and personal-family issues involved in international assignments, and how the new assignments and models are radically different from earlier practices.  Attendees will understand the cost elements as well as the human, managerial, and corporate benefits of designing and managing efficient and effective expat selection-support system.  Detailed materials as well as a spreadsheet that assists in cost and program evaluation will be available to attendees.
