"Walter Jacobson to Give 'Perspective' on Chicago Broadcast Journalism"

PCC’s June 9 luncheon will feature Chicago TV legendary newscaster Walter Jacobson and his take on the past, present and future of broadcast journalism in Chicago.

The always provocative Jacobson, who currently provides commentaries on WBBM-TV Channel 2 twice a week, is best known for anchoring WBBM’s newscast from 1973 to 1989, much of that time with Bill Kurtis.  His  “Perspective” pieces took a no holds-barred approach to issues and stories in the news.   Younger members will probably remember Jacobson when he worked at WFLD Channel 32 and at “Eight Forty-Eight” on Chicago Public Radio (91.5 FM). His memoirs, “Walter’s Perspective,” are scheduled for publication this year.

FEES

"Late" registration applies after 5 pm on Friday before the event.

We cannot process online registration after 3 pm the day before the event. Walk-Ins (pay at the door) are welcome at the rates shown:

MEMBERS and NON-MEMBERS

Only PCC members in good standing should register at the "member" rate. Non-members who register at the member rate will be billed for the difference.

CANCELLATION FEE

Cancellation policy: if you need to cancel your reservation, you must call the PCC office by 12:00 noon on the Monday preceding the program; otherwise an invoice in the amount of your registration fee for the event (as applicable) will be sent to you.
