J. Paul Malandrino, Jr.

Vice President and Airport Manager, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

Paul Malandrino assumed the position of Vice President and Airport Manager at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in July 2006.

He most recently served as the Federal Security Director for Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall airport for four years.  Prior to that, he was the Manager of the Operations Department for Washington Dulles International Airport for seven years.  He retired from the US Air Force in 1996 after spending 30-years on active duty.  He spent most of his Air Force career flying various models of the F-111 fighter bomber aircraft.  One of his many assignments in the United States Air Force was serving as the Commanding Officer of the 380^th Bombardment Wing in Plattsburgh Air Force Base, New York, flying FB-111 and KC-135 aircraft.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in History from The Citadel, graduating second in his class, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Golden Gate University.  He is also a graduate of the United States Air Force Air War College.  Born and raised in North Billerica, Massachusetts, he lives with his wife Barbara in Fairfax, Virginia.  They have two sons. Lt. Greg Malandrino, United States Navy, is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and currently an F-18 Top Gun Pilot.  Andrew Malandrino, a graduate of Georgetown University, is pursuing his Master’s Degree with the University of Tokyo.

Steven Mandelbaum

As Managing Director, Information Systems at The Advisory Board Company, Steven Mandelbaum is chiefly responsible for the integration of business process and technology. During his tenure, he reengineered and replaced every major business process and system, including their enterprise CRM systems.

Steven also manages the firm's $25 million travel program, including operations, technology, vendor selection, negotiation and contracting. In 2009 he was named a Best Practitioner by Business Travel News for his use of technology to drive savings while increasing traveler participation and satisfaction without hard mandates.

Previously, he was the Director, Information Technology for a presidential campaign, leading one of the first efforts for online fundraising and building communities of supporters/voters via the internet. Steven is on the faculty at The George Washington University School of Business, and has a Master’s of Science in Information Systems Technology and a Jurist Doctorate.
