DJ KEMIT'S BIRTHDAY GET DOWN - Saturday, May 29

When Creative Loafing rounded up Atlanta's leading late-night deejays and asked them to reveal who their favorite deejays are - most of them named DJ KEMIT at the top of their list. Some even consider Kemit "The Mayor" of Atlanta when it comes to rocking a party.
From private parties for the likes of Prince and Steve Harvey, to opening for Janet Jackson and touring with Teddy Riley and Blackstreet, to residencies at Opera, Halo, Club Kaya, Apache Cafe (aka Ying Yang), Funk Jazz Kafe, and pretty much any club or major event that's ever existed in Atlanta - it seems DJ Kemit has done it all.
But what seems to make him the first-choice for club owners, promoter's, deejays, house heads, and dancers is not just his uncanny ability to "play" turntables as musical instruments - rather its the fact that he's just a really nice guy.
In fact, every year, Kemit invites the entire city to party with him for his birthday. Now who wouldn't love a guy like that!
