Chris Burrows
Bio:
Chris Burrows is a developer at Microsoft on the C# Compiler team. His duties recently include the design and implementation of language features in C# 4, most notably dynamic. Before his current role, Chris worked on the LINQ to SQL implementation, and before that on more general Visual Studio IDE Core UI features, such as commands, menus, and windowing, as well as infrastructure for the project, source control, and help systems. Before joining Microsoft, Chris earned an MA in Mathematics and an MSE in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania. You can find him online at http://blogs.msdn.com/cburrows/. He lives in Seattle with his wife and daughter.

Getting to Know C# 4
With the release of C# 4, the language gives the programmer the ability to more fluently interact with external data models using a few new features, including "dynamic" by way of the Dynamic Language Runtime. This brings the .NET programmer closer to Python and Ruby when they need it, and it gives them a better experience with COM interop and other dynamic data, such as XML. I'll discuss this and the rest of the new features and experiences you can expect with the release of C# 4 and Visual Studio 2010, with an emphasis on how they are designed and how they work.

Jason Malinowski
Bio:
Jason Malinowski is a developer on the Visual Basic IDE team, working on code editing, formatting, and the integration with ASP.NET and WPF. Jason recently joined Microsoft after graduating from University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. When not staring at a computer screen writing code, you might find him taking pictures of the world behind his camera’s viewfinder, finding some new obscure choral music to sing, or hiking around Washington state.
Talk:
A Tour of Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2010
Visual Studio 2010 brings several enhancements to Visual Basic designed to let you write code faster than before. I’ll demonstrate how the new language features allow you to reduce the amount of code you write, and how you can consume the new Dynamic Language Runtime in VB. I’ll also show how new IDE features, like Highlight References and Navigate To, let you quickly move around in your projects and how Generate From Usage means you’ll never have to write a class declaration again!
