Event Details

VALHALLA

While the Valhalla series is relatively new, it is rapidly becoming the
preeminent MMA event in Virginia. The event boasts a 30 ft circular cage, experienced officials who are also coaches, fighters, and former fighters, and some of the best MMA fighters from across the United States. In addition to seasoned and competent officials, the faces behind the scene have been around the game for awhile. Promoters Scott Howard, Rick McCoy, and Kevin Knudsen have been officiating events for several years as well as been competitors in various martial arts disciplines.

There are eight yearly Valhalla events which take place in the DC Metro and Richmond areas, and the promoting team is looking to expand the venues to the Midwest and Northeast. All Valhalla events are sanctioned through the Global Combat Alliance (www.gcafights.com). Our shows are run by fighters for the fighters; so, come join us to watch as competitors from across the country gather to test themselves in the ultimate proving ground.

GCA is a newly formed sanctioning body created to provide the serious martial artist the opportunity to compete in MMA and Muay Thai. Our sanctioning and advisory body is composed of current/former fighters and coaches who want to see the sport grow. We see its practitioners as the lifeblood and want to ensure that they are taken care of by providing the safest possible environment for their matches. GCA prides itself in being able to guarantee fairness in all sanctioned events by using a majority vote system by its Advisory Board. GCA is the current sanctioning body for the Valhalla series in the DC Metro and Richmond area, as well as the King of the Ring series in Virginia Beach. As our organization grows so will the opportunities for larger and more exciting venues across the United States and even internationally. We currently have slated our first internationally sanctioned event in Singapore in October 2007. GCA is run by fighters for fighters, so pick your event and come support some of the best fighters from across the United States compete in the preeminent martial arts competition.
