Speakers: - Forum CEO, Natasha Carlish will unveil plans for the future of the Forum.

                  - Screen WM CEO, Suzie Norton will attend to listen to feedback regarding SWM’s handling of the film agenda.

When planning the next 12 months we listened to what you had to say about what you wanted from the Forum, why it continued to play a crucial role in your professional life and what we could do to raise our game. We also listened to our main funder, SWM, and re-negotiated a contract, part of which is taking us in a new and exciting direction,

We now have 50% of our funding secured for the next year with an application in for the remaining 50%.We need to diversify some areas of our activity and we are really keen to share exactly what this will look like. We are also very excited to tell you all about our very own MicroMovie project which is close to getting off the ground and which I hope will secure our long term sustainability as well as growing our national and international reputation. It will also give regional filmmakers an unprecedented opportunity to bid for development expertise and ultimately the budget to make a film.

The second part of the evening will be an open debate about the role that the regional screen agency has played in film in recent times. There has been a definite focus on ‘digital’ over the last 18 months and we are keen to hear your thoughts and opinions on the world on convergence. Do you think that this is fantastic opportunity which we should be embracing or do you think traditional film industry has taken a back-seat and want to see it at the top of the agenda again? Suzie Norton (CEO of ScreenWM) will be in attendance to observe and take note of your feedback.

In these uncertain times this is a real chance to make your voice heard and your opinion count and to see what events and opportunities will be available over the next 12 months. There is also great potential to be clear to Screen WM how you think they can boost the film agenda at a regional, national and international level.
