Beauty Awakens: A Benefit for the Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance
The poet Dante wrote, "Beauty awakens the soul to act." In this a cappella concert, modeled on music from the Sistine Chapel, the glorious sounds of the famed Palestrina "Pope Marcellus Mass," along with several serene motets of Orlando di Lasso, are complemented with recitations of Dante's Divine Comedy in an experience that is sure to stir the soul to both contemplation and action. "Beauty Awakens" is a benefit for the Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance (GAIA), working to bring community-based HIV prevention and care to parts of Africa.
