Delivering SOA with Silverlight and WCF RIA Services

In today’s connected world, web-based software has been shifting from a traditional application delivery model to a service and platform model. The differentiator is the segregation between business or software function and the semantics of individual applications. Services like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and hundreds of others have become staples on the web as a result of their accessibility – the idea that their individual platforms have become available to literally hundreds of individual applications. This talk will explore Microsoft technologies (including the costs and benefits of their investment) that allow business’ to develop software platforms that can be leveraged by many types of individual applications.

Speaker: Brandon Kelly is a technical professional with over 10 years experience in developing and leading teams that write "killer apps". Prior to re-joining Tribridge, Mr. Kelly owned and operated a private micro-consultancy (estatic.org / BusinessRx) for over 4 years, where he built a technical platform that allowed software developers around the world to create high-impact web applications with ease. Mr. Kelly currently serves as a Technical Manager for Tribrdge, whose success in the Microsoft consulting industry is represented by being selected as one of the top 1% of Dynamics partners worldwide in 2007, and named the Worldwide Dynamics Partner of the Year in 2008. Mr. Kelly enjoys his focus on software design and development, human factors and usability.

Tampa Bay IASA Chapter

The Tampa Bay chapter of the International Association of Software Architects (IASA) is dedicated to building a community of professionals interested in topics related to software architecture, and welcomes anyone who is actively working as a software architect or has an interest in becoming one.

We hope to provide a mechanism for software architects to network with each other, provide a technical outlet and information source to help keep up with the latest trends and technologies, and also help foster new speakers. We are mostly Microsoft focused, but we try to keep the topics as product-agnostic as possible and always keep the focus on architecture related topics.
