Join Michael Ellis, European Patent Attorney, of Ellis IP and Elizabeth Vokurka, IP and innovation management expert at IP Innovation, as they introduce the concepts and issues associated with IP in developing innovative companies. In guiding a (fictional) start-up, the concepts of IP strategy management, IP ownership, IP protection and IP licensing, third party IP and commercialisation will be explored. Learn the basics of protecting and exploiting the IP in
your company’s inventions, creative ideas and brands in this half day workshop.
Michael Ellis is a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney and IP management consultant with 10 years experience in intellectual property, with technical focus on chemistry, materials, medical tech, and renewable energy technology. Elizabeth Vokurka is an IP management professional and provides technology based companies, primarily in the hi-tech, software and IT sectors, with broad based advice on managing their IP capture and exploitation, IP policy and development and infringement risk reviews as well as providing technical due diligence for projects and assistance with obtaining financial support through publicly available grants or via angel or VC investors. Her background is in physics having completed a PhD in particle physics at CERN in Geneva and the University of Manchester.
