Learn about current trends and job forecasts by national experts in jobs in the green economy. Each of our participants has researched and written a book on green careers within the last year

Join Jim Cassio, author of Green Careers: Choosing Work for a Sustainable Future , Carol McClelland, author of Green Careers For Dummies, and Vicki Lind, co-author Portland Green Guide for Networking and Jobs. The webinar will focus on answering these questions:

  • Lite green or dark green. What’s a green job anyway?
  • What are the most common job titles in the Green Economy?
  • What are the jobs related to the green stimulus package, particular in Energy Efficiency?
  • What are some green career areas of growth for those whose skills are not technical or scientific?
  • What is different about a resume and job search in the green economy?
  • What resources are available to take me to the next step?

More about the Presenters

Jim Cassio is a career information and workforce development consultant who has been commissioned to conduct hundreds of labor market studies and has published numerous occupational resource books.  Jim specializes in green workforce issues, as well as industry, occupation, and skills research, analysis, and resource product development.

Vicki Lind, MS, is a career counselor, specializing  helping people make a difference through careers in non-profit, education, sustainability.  She provides workshops on careers in sustainability for the Natural Step Network, Green Drinks, as well as ISSP.  She is co-author with Gail Nicholson, MA, LPC, of  the Portland Green Guide to Networking and Jobs, 2009. Vicki has a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the U. of Oregon and a Certificate in Human Resource Management from Linfield College.

Carol McClelland, PhD, author of Green Careers For Dummies, is one of the nation’s leading green career experts.  Throughout her career, Carol has helped thousands of people find work that matches their values and interests.  In addition to writing Green Careers For Dummies, Carol is the Founder and Executive Director of Green Career Central. This online resource center dedicated to providing career guidance, coaching, and resources to clarify the ever-evolving world of green career possibilities for professionals and career counselors.
