Event Details

Who is Invited: Church Planting Teams (Husband, wife, and children), and Church Planting Mentors and Supervisors planning or planting a Colorado Baptist affiliated congregation.

What is Basic Training: This is a 3-day strategy planning workshop to

1) to assist church planting teams in clarifying church planting strategy

2) to learn about best-practices of church planting in Colorado

3) to network with other Colorado church planters and mentors, and

4) to determine a step-by-step road map for a successful launch of a church.

Basic Training is not model specific and will introduce principles that must be considered for any church planting location or style. We will NOT be telling you how to plant your church, but will be helping you evaluate your church planting plans.

Cost: Cost of the training is free. 3 nights of hotel accommodations will be provided for every lead planter/pastor. Additional team members, mentors, and supervisors are welcome, but we cannot cover their hotel expenses. We will provide meals and refreshments. Dinner on Saturday night will be on your own.

Spouses and Children: Spouses are essential to this training and are strongly encouraged to attend. Childcare will be available for those who cannot make other arrangements.

Event Preparation:

Prior to attending Basic Training, we ask every church planting team to prepare by completing two assignments:

1) Download the Church Planting Journey Journal and Complete the Church Planting Journey and begin a journal for your experience. Come prepared for our first session to share these items…

c. How do you define the “kingdom of God”

2) Begin a Community Awareness Scrapbook (bring this with you)

a. Demographic information for your ministry area – you can order demographics at http://www.namb.net/demographicsrequest

b. Community flyers, information, etc

d. Photos of people, landmarks, and other churches
