Did You Know?

• Lovelane’s horses use 2200 bales of hay each year at a cost of $16,500 per year. 
• Grain for Lovelane’s horses cost $2,500 a year.
• We spend $14,000 each year to shoe our herd of 12 horses (and you thought Manolo Blahniks were expensive!)
• Horses need new shoes every 6-8 weeks.
• Bedding for our 12 horses costs 1,000 a month.
• Veterinary and dental care for our horses totals $21,000.
•  Lovelane’s horses are a bit older than average (they have to be gentle, tolerant and mature to do their jobs!).  This means that, just like us, they need more medical attention for their aging bodies.
• Horses’ teeth never stop growing so need their teeth need to be ‘floated’ (or filed) every 6 months.
• Our horses get daily feed supplements which include needed vitamins & regular medications.
• Your kids get their shots every year… our horses need immunization twice a year!
