What are editors looking for in a website? (Pictures,
of course!) But what elements help your buyers accomplish their goals?
And what are some of the things that photographers do wrong, and do
right, to help themselves in the online domain of their business?
Join
us for an overview of design, workflow, marketing and some nteresting
survey results on what helps make successful websites for photographers
and buyers. Our guests will be Grover Sanchagrin of PhotoShelter and professional photographer Brad Mangin. Refreshments provided.
Brad Mangin is a
freelance sports photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
His
regular clients include Sports Illustrated and Major League Baseball
Photos. After
graduating from San Jose State University he worked for several
newspapers, including
The National Sports Daily, before starting to
freelance in 1993. Mangin has covered several
Super Bowls, World Series, NBA
Finals games and the Olympics. He regularly covers spring training in
Arizona for Sports Illustrated and the World Series for Major League Baseball.
Mangin's website (www.manginphotography.com)
contains many of his pictures and is
the home of his searchable archive
containing over 11,600 of his pictures. Mangin is also a
founding partner of
SportsShooter.com, the online resource for sports
photography.
Grover Sanschagrin
is a Founder and Vice President of Marketing for PhotoShelter and
Executive
Producer for SportsShooter.com. His experience with online productions also
include
major roles with ChicagoTribune.com, the Quokka Sports Network
(which included NBCOlympics.com
and FinalFour.net), Altpick.com, and web
hosting company S2F Online. Sanschagrin studied
photography and photojournalism at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Ohio University,
and
worked as a staff photographer for several daily newspapers in
Michigan.
The
program will run from 7:30 pm-9:30 pm on June 19, 2007. Registration
will be from 7pm-7:30pm. Pre-registration cost will be $10 for ASMP
members; $15 for non-members. The cost will be $10 more at the door.
Students get a $5 discount with Student ID, APA members may register at
