From the President's Confused Cerebral Cortex

MoPictive Friends,

We're really late getting you a meeting notice. Why? If you've ever produced anything (hah!) you know that all the best plans get derailed when speakers or talent or presenters bail. We'll no details, but we've managed to put together an amazing program. So I hope that short notice won't keep you away.

Peter Levin has worked on over 100 TV shows and films and is going to present tips for sound sweetening and mixing. More important than his presentation is the fact that he will take questions and provide us lots of information on a topic that is often foreign to most editors and shooters.

Angela Snow is working on a documentary World Circus Culture and will discuss documentary procedures working outside the USA as well as show us clips. Of course, she will present all of the production details and take questions.

I don't have any hardware toys to show this month, but I want to help bring us back to our FCP roots by showing a few of my favorite plug-ins. A few months ago, I featured Boris Continuum Complete. This month, I'll mostly be talking about FxFactory from NoiseIndustries and some of the add-ons that work through FxFactory.

We also welcome NoiseIndustries as a new raffle sponsor and will include a free license to FxFactory Pro ($399 value) in this month's world famous raffle.

See you on the 18th at B&H!

Sincerely,

Ned Soltz
President, MoPictive

This month's lineup:

I Can Hear You Now - Everything About Audio

Peter Levin knows sound. He has mixed over 100 films and TV shows and is a partner in Splash Studios. Peter loves to talk about mixing, sweetening, ADR and everything else audio. Among his topics will be compression, normalization, ADR and just generally how to get the most out of your audio. We welcome Peter back to Mopictive.

Angela Snow

Let's Go To The Circus
World Circus Culture - A Documentary

Angela Snow divides her time between NY and LA and in addition to working on a project for Discovery Channel while here in NYC, she is also working on a documentary about circuses around the world. She will be sharing the perspective of a documentary filmmaker with us by discussing issues with overseas production as well as the production and post techniques in her film.

Check out some clips here.

Ned's Toy Box

No hardware this month-- just software. Let's return to our FCP roots at our meetings and have FCP related topics. This month it's software plug-ins for FCP. Ned will show off FxFactory from NoiseIndustries as well as some of the third party add-ons. And we will raffle a license for FxFactory Pro.
