Event Details

With thanks to our meeting sponsor Renewtek, we are pleased to announce the Melbourne Spring User Group Meeting.

The Melbourne Spring User Group will have Ben Alex presenting on the ROO Framework. ROO allows you to develop Real Object Oriented (ROO) systems, where the motto is "domain first, infrastructure second". If you're interested in domain driven design, proper encapsulation, and not having to write a lot of code to do it, this session will be of interest to you. Ben presented on this topic at The Spring Experience in Florida, and will feature extensive demos of the as-yet-unreleased ROO Framework. ROO is used at Woolworths Limited, and Ben will explain how Woolworths are using ROO in a number of production applications. This presentation will feature a lot of live demos and code, so sit back and enjoy!

Registration and refreshments open from 5:30 pm, with the formal meeting kicking off at 6:00 pm. Ben's presentation ends at 7:30 pm, and then there will half an hour for panel questions, answers and future meeting topic discussions. The meeting will end at 8:00 pm.

There is no cost involved, and refreshments (tea, coffee, juice, beer, wine etc) will be provided courtesy of Renewtek. There will also be some extra drinks and nibbles when the evening's formal presentation wraps up.

You do not need to be a member to attend. You simply need to register via this web site, so that we can ensure there is sufficient seating and refreshments for those interested.

Your registration record will not be shared with anyone. We'll only use it to print your name badge, and add you to the Australasia Spring Interest list (so that you know about future Spring user group meetings and similar events in our region, as well as any potential changes to this event's details).

Please note that registration is on a first-come basis, as seating is limited at this event. Therefore, kindly register ASAP to secure your place. Also, please let us know if you can't attend so that we don't keep your place reserved. Unfortunately late registrations cannot be guaranteed seating, although we'll always do our best to accommodate you.
