Better Beat Reporting
Award-winning reporter Gord Hoekstra is proof that you don't have to report from a big city to find some great stories. After 17 years at the Prince George Citizen, he's covered most everything. Now his main areas of coverage are city development, natural resource industries, the environment and First Nations. His work has been recognized with the Michener (2006), an NNA (2007) and the CAJ's Don McGillivray Award for investigative journalism (2009).
He will discuss how to keep producing copy on your regular beat while developing some investigative features that get noticed.
