This workshop is limited to 6 participants

The cost of this workshop covers camping fees, instruction and guiding. You provide the transportation to and from Dolly Sods, food and all gear for camping and hiking.



Join Joe for an exciting and adventurous 4 day and 3 night camping and hiking photo tour of the Dolly Sods Wilderness and the Bear Rocks Preserve in the Allegheny Mountains of west Virginia. The base camp for this workshop will be the Red Creek campground where we will share a 3 campsites right next to one another. Two tens will be able to be erected at each site. During the day we will be shooting at some of my favorite locations for stunning scenic photography as well as hiking out to rock overlooks, shooting flora and fauna on the many trails. Each day starts at well before sunrise with a drive and short hike to our sunrise location. in the afternoons, we hike the trails and shoot the waterfalls in Red Creek, Fisher Creek and much, much more. Every night, we will get together at a big fire and cook food, sip a strong drink and talk photography and adventure before retiring to our tents for a much needed sleep under the stars.

Joe is also a staff course instructor for Nature Photographers Magazine, and writes a regular blog column forOutdoor Photographer Magazine online edition. Joe is also a co-author and contributing photographer two print books, The Ultimate Guide to Digital Nature Photography (Mountain Trail Press) and50 Amazing Things You Must See and Do in the Greater D.C. Area, The Ultimate Adventure Guide.  Joe continues to travel extensively producing new and exciting images of the natural world as well as leading several photography workshops and photo tours each year.
