Indian Vegetarian Cooking Class: Khichuri, Aloo Matar, and Shrikand (sweet and sour dessert)

- Dessert: Shrikand (sweet and sour dessert)
As you walk into the class, you’ll be greeted with hot milk chai.
We begin the class with Khichuri (also known as Khichari or Khichdi) - it is popurly known as an ayurvedic dish. I'll explain how to best cook this wonderful rice and lentil dish from scratch using fresh ingredients, spices, and herbs. This dish is so wonderful that you'll find yourself cooking it quite often at home!
We'll pair our Khichuri with Aloo Matar - potato and peas cooked in an onion-tomato gravy with fresh hersb and spices. Once again, we'll be cooking this dish from scratch using good quality potatoes, peas, fresh ingredients, and spices.
Lastly, we'll prepare Shrikand, a sweet and sour dessert that is creamy and infused with a couple of special ingredients to make this dessert even extra amazing.
NOTE: this is a hands-on cooking class, you'll prep, cook, and eat during the class. You'll have an opportunity not only to learn some great recipes, but also good kitchen skills and practices. I prepare nothing ahead of time, we do everything during the class :) All of the ingredients will be fresh, nothing canned or preserved is allowed in my kitchen.
NOTE: this class doesn't have an appetizer, please eat a snack before coming in.
