Closing the Gap – Reconnecting Preaching with Leadership and Worship

June 12 @ Lindner Conference Center

9:00 am – 4:00 pm (Lunch on your own)

$30 (After June 2 – $40)

Michael Quicke has already challenged thin-blooded preaching that fails to lead churches into transformation, and now he is hot on the heels of tuneless preaching that fails to worship. This seminar will give opportunity for pastors and worship leaders to engage in these critical issues for church renewal:

How can preaching make more difference to churches?

How can preaching belong more closely to worship?

How does this affect church renewal?

How do you preach through the Christian year.

Take a ways from this seminar:

What is thin-blooded preaching and how can we avoid it?

What is tuneless preaching and how can we avoid it?

How can we work together to close the gap?

The day will also include worship sessions, time for interactions and Q&A.

Dr. Michael Quicke is the Koller Professor of Preaching and Communication and has extensive experience in preaching and academic life. Born in London, England, he was educated at both Cambridge and Oxford Universities before beginning twenty-one years of Baptist ministry in Britain. His key ministry was in Cambridge at the historic City Centre Church, where morning congregations grew from 70 to over 500. His reputation as a Christian communicator grew as he appeared on television and radio and spoke at conferences, conventions and assemblies throughout Britain, Australia, Canada and the USA.

Michael Quicke’s book 360-Degree Leadership was cited in the March-April 2007 issue of Preaching magazine as one of this year’s best books on preaching.
