The new Healthwise program highlights the importance of ‘health literacy’ – the ability to access quality medical and health information. Hear key medical and health-literacy professionals discuss recent research in the area and new services that help people to find health information online. Presented in partnership with Melbourne Health and Cochrane Consumer Network

Healthwise seminar - Type 2 Diabetes
Diabetes is Australia’s fastest growing chronic disease. 275 Australians develop the disease everyday and 85 to 90 per cent of these people will have Type 2 diabetes. You could be at risk.
In this free seminar key medical professionals Dr. Spiros Fourlanos and Dr. Ralph Audehm discuss the risk factors associated with Type 2 Diabetes and what can be done to prevent the onset the disease.  Dr. Peter Greenberg will talk about evidence-based research into Type 2 Diabetes and advise on where to find credible evidence-based information.
Opportunities for Q & As. Chaired by Kathleen Gray and presented in partnership with Melbourne Health, the Cochrane Consumer Network and the Chronic Illness Alliance
