Are you only using Lightroom as a RAW converter and/or image editor because you are simply unfamiliar with the many other useful features of the program? If so this class is for you.
Topics covered include:
- Tethered shooting to a computer
- Efficient photo management with multiple catalogs
- Cross-cataloging of image files
- Tips and tricks for batch operations such as renaming, re-sorting, exporting, etc.
- Managing folder hierarchies and dealing with "lost" image files
- How to use collections and smart collections
- Use presets to achieve unique looks
- Learn retouching techniques within Lightroom
- Advanced Photoshop integration
- Creating layouts for print and/or email.
This class takes place in our state of the art computer lab as a hands-on workshop. Each student is assigned a MacPro tower with 23" Cinema Display.
Requirements: Students are encouraged but not required to bring their own images 50-100 images, several of the same subject. All files should be RAW or JPEG. Bring a flash drive to hold the images above. Lightroom software version 4 will be provided for use during this course. (A free trial for home use can be downloaded from www.adobe.com) Email any questions to edu@samys.com.
Suggested pre-requisite: Adobe Lightroom 4 Level - 2 with Natasha
Experience Level:
Beginner to Intermediate: Attendee should be Mac or PC computer literate and understand basic computer short cut keys (control, option, command etc.). Mac computers are used in our lab. You may email any questions to edu@samys.com.
