Description

Capturing the Day with iPads:  In this workshop you will learn to create an iMovie trailer and a digital book while using the iPad to capture and highlight activities or events.  After the workshop, feel free to stay and apply your skills by helping students use the same software to Capture their Day at USF’s Children’s Festival.  

About Our Trainers:

Gerard Sukhram

Gerard Sukhram is a currently seeking his Masters in the Art of Teaching from USF. He is an aspiring secondary Language Arts teacher who wishes to integrate technology in the classroom to expand student audiences in writing among other things. Gerard has experience working with iMovie, GarageBand, and other content creation programs for OS X and iOS but specializes in using wikis, blogs, and other collaborative learning tools to enhance the classroom experience.


Jennifer Hart

Jennifer is currently a doctoral candidate in the Instructional Technology program in the College of Education at USF. She is an iteach mentor, a certified Mimio trainer, and has experience with both Apple and Windows productivity software. Her passion is assisting both pre-service and in-service teachers in integrating technology, pedagogy, and content to enhance teaching and improve student achievement. She has a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and a B.S is in Elementary Education (1-6) with certifications in Primary Ed. (K-3), Educational Media Specialist (PK-12), Health (K-12) and Physical Education. (K-12).

Luis Perez

Luis Perez is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Special Education. His dissertation research focuses on the experiences of graduate students with visual disabilities, and he has expertise in qualitative research methods, Universal Design for Learning, mobile learning with iPads, podcasting/screencasting and assistive technology. Luis has been a part of the Lounge staff since 2005, and he was the main content creator for TechEase 4 All, a website focusing on assistive technologies. In 2009, Luis was recognized as an Apple Distinguished Educator, and he is certified in both iLife and iWork.

BJ Bryant

BJ is a doctoral candidate in the Adult Education program at the University of South Florida. He is a highly skilled videograher and presents workshops on iMovie, Final Cut, and other video editing applications. BJ is an expert user of all versions of iLife and iWork, and is certified by Apple in iLife. He can also help you learn how to use interactive whiteboards in the classroom. BJ's research focuses on developing and teaching with accessible media with the use of ePub, ARIA, and HTML5 standards. BJ has earned a M. Ed. in Instructional Technology from USF and a B.A. in Electronic Media Art and Technology from the University of Tampa.
