Event Details
Join KQED's Michael Krasny and Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom as they take the stage to discuss Newsom's latest book, Citizenville.
Citizenville is the story of how ordinary citizens can use new digital tools to dissolve political gridlock and transform American democracy. As social networking and smartphones have changed the way we communicate with one another, these technologies are also changing our relationship with government.
Drawing on wide-ranging interviews with thinkers and politicians, Citizenville is the first book by Lieutenant Governor Newsom. Newsom broke new ground as the mayor of San Francisco, one of the most high-tech, experimental, and progressive municipalities in the nation.
Our partner Kepler's will be on-site selling copies of Citizenville before and after the program. Lieutenant Governor Newsom will be signing books immediately following the program.
