3 things to know before you get started
If you've had a great idea and would like to turn it into a business, this session will give you some key tips on how… and a reality check!
Thursday 4th February 2010 6pm – 8.30pm

Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, Capital House, Festival Square
The event will help you with the initial thinking process, including whether its right for you, before you get into detailed business planning.
The workshop is for those who have an idea in their head or on the back of an envelope, or those who often come up with ideas and don’t know how to take them forward. Specifically, it will help you with the following:
1. You’re passionate about your idea but how can you get others to believe in it too?
2. Do your personal values support your passion?
(because that’s what will keep you going when it gets tough!)
3. Why should potential customers care?
The session will also signpost you to local sources of free advice to help you move on to the next stage.
The workshop will be led by Siân Prime who has over 20 years experience as a trainer, facilitator and coach with hands-on experience of running businesses, delivering business advice and coaching entrepreneurs who are starting up new ventures. While working with NESTA, Siân developed a scheme to harness strong ideas and turn them into innovative, sustainable businesses. She has since become an authority in a range of sectors.
