Event Details

Jim Fay was a local (west-end Toronto from Ireland) musician who died a year ago. He left behind a
young family and a great group of friends who miss him dearly. To honour his memory his family
and friends have initiated SHINE! The Jim Fay Music Scholarship for Youth concert.

The Jim Fay Music Scholarship for Youth will be awarded annually to those selected:
who are youth (16-24)
who are or were homeless or who are “at-risk”
who live in the GTA or PEI
who want to further their study or practice of traditional, folk or roots music

In 2010 a minimum of $2,000 will be awarded.

To raise funds for the scholarship a small group of Jim’s friends and his wife Marie have
organized SHINE! a concert at Hugh's Room on February 21st 2010.

The concert will headline ANDREW CASH, MICHAEL JOHNSTON & ANDY MAIZE (of the Skydiggers), Juno Award winner JULIAN  FAUTH, JON BROOKS, JERRY LEGER and LORI YATES.
